Meet your host and the group at Torres de Serranos, at the edge of the old town, and step down into the Turia Gardens: a 9 km park built in the old riverbed that runs right through the heart of Valencia.

From here, you'll walk about 5 km at an easy, relaxed pace along tree-lined paths, fountains, sports fields and bridges, surrounded by green space instead of traffic. This is where Valencians come to run, cycle, walk their dogs and meet friends, and you'll get to experience the city from their favorite spot.

Along the way, there's plenty of time to chat, swap travel stories and get to know the people you're walking with. Your host keeps the atmosphere easygoing and social, sharing tips on where to eat, what to do and how to make the most of your time in Valencia.

As you reach the end of the gardens, the futuristic white buildings of the City of Arts and Sciences come into view. Here we find a spot in the park and sit down together for a Valencian-style picnic, a relaxed way to end the walk with good food, good company and one of the city's most striking views.

The experience ends at the picnic spot, close to the City of Arts and Sciences, so you can stay and explore the area afterwards.
